HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT

Awareness Campaign

Common areas of skin cancer for black and brown skin are non-exposed places such as palms,  the sole of the foot, in the mouth and nose, and around the nails.

‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ is an outdoor awareness campaign that aims to remove all the barriers for darker skin.  The campaign will be applied to unusual places to show that skin cancer can be found in unexposed parts of the body.

DARK AND UNUSUAL PLACES

The design uses dark stickers with the key information that common parts of the body go unnoticed when checking for skin cancer.  By scanning the QR code, the user will be directed to the black and brown skin website to gain further understanding of skin cancer.

SOCIAL AREAS

A serious issue such as skin cancer gains attention when it is discussed and shared. Using the #unusualplaces as a means of discussion, the design will become representative of black and brown skin cancer.

People walking outside are encouraged to stop and notice the sticker adverts placed around the city, sharing photos online or simply having a conversation about the topic with a friend.
